Puppies are here!

Our litter was born yesterday on 5/6/2023 just finishing up at midnight! I always worry about Bailey just because we love her so much! But this was her easiest (?) delivery yet; I say that because she had all 11 puppies within a 5.5 hr period, which is amazing! She seems to be doing well today, eating, drinking and keeping pups clean and fed.
The vet anticipated we would have a litter of 10-11 puppies, maybe 12, from their guess on the xrays. We had 11, so almost spot on! 6 males, 5 females. It appears we have a couple dark red of each gender, and one light of each gender. The rest look to be a shade in between. We will try to have individual puppy photos up in a few days after they get good and settled in. And we will hopefully know for sure then, which ones are the darkest and the lightest. It is hard to tell under the red light of the heat lamp, and I like to keep them nice and warm constantly without turning that off for good photos yet.
Spoiler: the girls decided to name them all after characters from the show "Bluey"
Day 1 consisted of making sure our original puppy count and genders were correct, giving them names and collars so we can keep track of who is who. We weighed them this morning, and will do so twice a day for this first week to keep track of their eating. Vet is coming to remove dewclaws in a few days, as well.
I posted a frequently asked concerns/questions response on our facebook page , if you want to check that out........................................................................................................................
I'm still trying to coordinate our posts here with our facebook page "SK Golden Retrievers". I appreciate feedback if I should do identical posts on both, or limit our weekly progress/things we do with pups to this page since it is longer posts. Hmm...let me know.
Also, we have multiple puppies not spoken for. Spread the word so we can find them great homes!
